Free Kindle eBooks – Classics – on Amazon.com

Just one of many free classics.

I enjoy my Kindle Fire; my wife LOVES her Kindle reader. She fairly devours the latest  “thrillers” as soon as they come out.

I intend to post ongoing information on free Kindle books, and perhaps other formats as well. Like Indiana Jones said in Raiders of the Lost Ark: ” I’m making this up as I go.”

For starters, here is a link to a list of over 2,000 free Kindle “Popular Classics.” Yep, I’m a fan of the oldies like Robert Lewis Stevenson, Charles Dickens and the like.

My real interest is in good spiritual books; in particular The Bible.

There are a lot of fine Christian blogs here already. Frankly, I’m not sure how much new material I can add. But, I’ll be digging for it. I’ll share my discoveries here.

Enjoy. http://www.amazon.com/s/?node=2245146011

I find it upside-down and backwards, though absolutely wonderful, that really good books–the kind that can change your life–are free while you have to pay top dollar for books like “50 Shades of Gray”. I’m not complaining, but it is odd. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts!

You never know when a word just you have been given could be the word some one else needed at just that moment or when someone who does not know Christ may come also and land on your space and come to Christ. Yes, there are many of us and we all have a place to fill and we help keep each other informed and uplifted. You have something to give, give it to the fullest. I too have a kindle and enjoy it to the fullest. Once a gained possession of our kindle I bought my favorite version of the Bible and that is what I read before I go to bed and night. Best of wishes to you this day and following my blog. Margaret

The best book you will ever read is The Bible. I’ve gone to the Library and checked out books and come home and meditated over God’s word or blogged God’s word and lost interest in the Library books. He’ll do that to you. 🙂

Have you tried the new “immersion reading” for kindle fire? Amazon talked me into it and we downloaded Huck Finn for free along with the audio. My wife and I listen to a chapter every night and are really enjoying it. If you haven’t tried it, you read along while listening to a professional reading. I love that several classics are free! 🙂
