Free Christmas Comics for Kids – and You.

SANTA-756 253-CWMG-thumb FROSTY-601This is a collection of Christmas comic books from the “good old” days.

There are three each of Santa Claus Funnies, Frosty the Snowman and (my favorite) Christmas with Mother Goose.

Also, a nifty ten page comic version of A Christmas Carol.

They’re not eBooks, they’re fun to read 3D-Pageflip books. They can be read on almost all mobile devices as well as desktops.

Give the kids a treat. (You can read them yourself when no one is looking.)

You’ll find them at:

Merry Christmas!

C-CAROL

When Life Interferes with Living.

Deck the halls; its Santa!I’ve been gone for quite a while so I need to do some catch-up.

First, I posted some special Christmas comics for the kids (and the kids at heart) on my website at http://familyfunland.com. Details are at the bottom of this post.

I owe it to you to explain why I’ve been absent. I’ll try to be brief; but please bear with me.

Shortly after my last post at the end of July my beloved wife got seriously ill. Her health had been in a downward spiral for about a month. Her doctor prescribed a new medication. It soon became evident that she was the “one in a million” that had a severe negative reaction to the drug.

That was it. She went into the hospital for treatment and a seemingly endless battery of tests.

We’ve both had our share of health issues over the years, but this one was a record setter. The doctors had no idea what what was wrong with her; the tests revealed nothing.

After ten days she returned home. No real diagnosis, no helpful treatment, just pain pills. Then she went through weeks of slow and painful recovery.

I’ve never felt so helpless in my life. All I could do was pray, watch and wait.

Nothing mattered except the lovely woman that has given me 38 years of her life. Not work, certainly not play, not blogging; nothing. Just her and her pain.

But thank God, in the last few weeks she has finally come back to life. Whether or not the medication she reacted to has left her with any permanent damage is unknown.

We now know that she does have osteoarthritis.  I’m sure that some of you reading this know what that’s like. She’s learning to live with it; so am I.

I’m not complaining and I’m not crying the blues. The worst is over. I’m grateful to God for His support. Our dear Lord Jesus saw us through. We have no doubt but that He will continue to carry us as long and as much as is needed.

I had time to do a lot of thinking along with my praying. I kept thinking about “The best laid schemes of mice and men / Often go awry.” Life, our direction and priorities can change in a heartbeat. Plan as I might, only God really knows what’s around the next corner. Thankfully, He’s already there to meet us; having worked all things together for our good before we ever arrive.

For a part of my own “recovery plan” I intend to return to blogging. I’m not sure I’ll be as centered on eBooks as I originally thought, but I intend to just make a new beginning and see what happens.

I posted some old Christmas comic books on one of my websites. Three issues each of Santa Claus Funnies, Frosty the Snowman, and my personal favorite – Christmas with Mother Goose; illustrated by Walt Kelly. Mr Kelly, of Pogo fame, is my favorite cartoonist.

Also, there’s a ten page comic book version of A Christmas Carol; the classic by Charles Dickens.

They’re mobile 3D-Flipbooks and can be read on almost all tablets and smartphones as well as desktops.

I enjoyed putting them together and thinking back to when I used to read comics like these when I was a boy. Perhaps you’ll enjoy them too; or just pass them on to your kids and grand-kids. (I really did it with them in mind.)

I’ll put up a few more throughout December. I’ll let you know when new ones are available.

You’ll find them at http://familyfunland.com

Below is a screen capture of the home page; just to let you know what to expect. The picture is also a link.

My thanks to those of you that were following my little blog, and my apologies for being absent for so long. I’m sure you understand.

Merry Christmas to all. And as Tiny Tim said, “God bless us, every one.”
